Consumers don’t like to think about death, which means they usually don’t respond well to advertising. That’s why you need to shatter the preconception that you want to make a living off of others’ grief – and that requires you to get creative with your advertising. Learn how to: develop marketing that gains attention and builds trust, generate new and quantifiable leads, appeal to the baby boomer market, and leverage new technology to expand your reach.
Dan Katz
An award-winning copywriter and creative director for more than 30 years, Mr. Katz began developing unusual and provocative death care advertising campaigns in 1994. His groundbreaking work garnered the attention of funeral providers around the country. He has worked with such prominent companies as Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuaries, Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries, numerous Catholic Archdiocesan cemeteries, Dodge, Sich Caskets, and many others. His blog, “Funeral Advertising for the Perplexed,” is widely read within the industry. As a pilot and airplane owner, Mr. Katz also ran a successful aerial cremation scattering business, Airway to Heaven, so he knows what it is like to serve families first-hand.
